Day Three

We were hoping for a  beautiful ‘Bama day out there, but there was a dense fog advisory until 9am.  Living out of suitcases sucks.  Wouldn’t it be nice to have little dressers in the car (like we did when we were camping) for our clothes and easier access.  There must be a store around here that we could find such a thing.  Answer:  Super Walmart to the rescue.  They had so many to choose from so we settled on two different sizes – about 16 inches deep, 24 inches high, and one is 30 inches wide and the other 15 inches wide.  Threw them in the car and we are off to explore Alabama and Mississippi shore line.

West on the I-10, through a tunnel and then to Pascagoula.

Traveling on to Biloxi passing INGALLS Ship Building.  Biloxi is a very cute place – lots of casinos, seafood places, and beautiful beaches.  We had lunch at McElroy’s Harbor House Seafood Restaurant right on the waterfront.  All the buildings here are on stilts because of hurricanes – good thing they had an elevator!  There are so many good signs in the restaurant but one really caught our eye!

The oysters were a special of the day  – 1 dozen for $8.00 – and they were huge!  Never seen any that large before.  They get them from a family in Parish 6 in Louisiana and have been using that family for years.  WOW!!  So good.  The Philly Po’Boy came with gumbo for $7.99 – a true bargin. Look at all those shrimp!

After lunch we walk the beach and experience the white sand of Biloxi – Mississippi shore line RockS!  Did we mention they have fire pits and game nets?

Miles and miles of white sand beach and we are finally in Louisiana!  Stopping in New Orleans for the night!
